Nittel

Staying in or near Nittel

There are several good guesthouses and a few hotels in Nittel. The guest houses tend to be owned and run by the vintners that live in the village. They all have restaurants attached. The food tends to be very good quality and very good value. Matthias Dostert is our favourite restaurant in the village. Please note all prices are approximate. They might also be out of date so use them as a guide rather than as gospel!

Prices in the village range from €40 per person per night to €70 per person per night. We've listed the places with our favourites at the top

Nearby in Wincheringen is the Hotel Moselblick which as its name suggests has a view of the Mosel. It also has a very nice restaurant.

If you fancy something more expensive there is the 5 star Schloss Berg. This is about 15 minutes down the road in Nennig. It has a casino attached and a 3 Michelin star chef (Christian Bau) at the gourmet restaurant. Prices range from €140 to €340 per room per night.

Staying in or near Trier

Trier is a good choice if you want to be close to sight-seeing and the wedding venue (see our Trier information). Whilst there is a train and bus service in Nittel if you don't have a car it is easier to get around if you are based in Trier.

These are hotels that we think would be nice to stay in, though we have no direct experience of them. Prices are all approximate and are on a per person per night basis.

If you'd like to stay outside the center of Trier you can check Weinhaus Becker in Trier Olewig (10 minutes drive from the city centre). The rooms are €75-120 per person per night. They have a very good restaurant (considered one of the 100 best in Germany (and they're hopefully doing our catering)).

There are many, many more options for staying in Trier. Check the Trier city web site for more ideas.

Staying in Luxembourg

There are countless more places to stay in Luxembourg. It's not so convenient for the wedding, but if you have a car it would be fine. Luxembourg city is very old and very beautiful. It has lots of attractions (see our Luxembourg information) so if you want to do lots of sight-seeing this could be appropriate.
